KKB

Terms of service

Last updated 13 October 2026. Effective for all users from that date.

Please read these terms. They are a binding agreement between you and Techmori. The parts that matter most: KKB is a calculator and record-keeper for your group, not a bank, lender or payment service; receipt scanning uses AI and can be wrong, so you must check it; all purchases go through Google Play or the App Store and their refund rules apply; the app is provided as is, and our liability to you is capped. By installing or using KKB you agree to all of this.

1. Who you are agreeing with

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are between you and Techmori, a business based in the Philippines (“Techmori”, “we”, “us”, “our”). They cover the KKB mobile application, the kkb website, and every related feature, update and service (together, “KKB” or the “Service”). The Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information and forms part of these Terms.

If you do not agree with these Terms, do not install or use KKB. If you are using KKB on behalf of a group, you agree for yourself only; every member agrees for themselves when they install the app.

2. Who may use KKB

You must be at least 13 years old to use KKB. If you are under 18, or under the age of majority where you live, you confirm that a parent or guardian has reviewed these Terms and agreed to them on your behalf, and that they take responsibility for your use, including any purchases. You may not use KKB if you are barred from doing so under the laws of the Philippines or of the country where you live.

3. What KKB is, and is not

KKB helps a group of people record shared expenses, assign them to individuals, and work out who owes whom. It is a tool for arithmetic and record-keeping on information that you and the other members enter.

KKB is not a bank, e-money issuer, remittance service, payment processor, lender, debt collector, escrow agent, accountant or financial adviser. In particular:

4. Accounts and guest mode

You can use KKB without creating an account. Data you create in guest mode lives only on your device, and we cannot recover it if the device is lost, reset or the app is uninstalled. The first time you use an online feature (publishing or joining a shared group, scanning a receipt, backing up), KKB creates an anonymous account for you automatically. You may later attach an email address or phone number to make the account permanent.

You are responsible for the device and credentials that give access to your account and for everything done through it. Tell us promptly at developer@techmori.com if you believe your account has been used without your permission. Anonymous accounts that are inactive for twelve months are deleted automatically, together with the groups, backups, credits and purchases attached to them, and we are not liable for that loss.

5. Shared groups, invite codes and seats

When you publish a group, its contents (members’ names, expenses, line items, receipts, payments and balances) become visible to everyone who joins with the group’s invite code, and remain visible to them even after you leave. You alone decide who you give the code to. Anyone holding the code can join and claim an unclaimed seat, so treat it like a key.

The creator of a group can revoke a member’s claim, which removes that member’s access to the group but keeps the records intact for the other members. If you claim a seat that is not yours, or enter information about others that is false or misleading, you are responsible for the consequences. When you leave a group or delete your account, your seat becomes an unnamed placeholder so that the other members’ records still add up; the expenses and balances themselves are not deleted, because they belong to the group’s shared record.

Shared groups are synced on a best-effort basis. Changes made while offline are queued and may be reordered, delayed or, in rare conflicts, overwritten by a later change from another member. Always confirm important numbers with the people involved before relying on them.

6. Receipt scanning and AI output

Receipt scanning sends a photo to a third-party AI model and shows you its reading of the merchant, items, prices, service charge, VAT and total. AI output can be wrong, sometimes in ways that look right. Numbers may be misread, items merged or missed, and discounts or charges misunderstood. You must review every scan against the actual receipt before confirming it. Once you confirm, the figures are yours, and we are not responsible for any error that you accepted.

Scans are metered in credits. One scan costs one credit, whether or not you keep the result. Photos that are not receipts are rejected at no charge, but repeated non-receipt uploads may temporarily block scanning on your account. Do not upload photos that contain other people’s personal information beyond what is printed on an ordinary receipt, or anything you do not have the right to share with the members of that group.

7. Purchases, credits, ads and refunds

8. Your content

You own the information you enter into KKB: group names, expense details, notes, receipt photos and the like (“Your Content”). You grant Techmori a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, copy, process, transmit and display Your Content solely to operate, secure and improve the Service, including sharing it with the other members of a shared group and sending receipt photos to our AI provider for extraction. This licence ends when Your Content is deleted from our systems, except for copies in routine backups that are purged on their normal schedule.

You are solely responsible for Your Content. You confirm that you have the right to share it, that it does not infringe anyone’s rights or any law, and that where it includes information about other people (their names, what they ordered, what they owe) you have a proper basis for sharing it with the group. We do not monitor Your Content but may remove it, or suspend access to it, if we reasonably believe it breaches these Terms or the law.

9. Acceptable use

You agree not to, and not to help anyone else to:

10. Intellectual property

KKB, including its software, design, logos, text and the name “KKB” as used for this app, is owned by Techmori or its licensors and protected by copyright, trademark and other laws. We grant you a limited, personal, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use the app on devices you own or control, in accordance with these Terms and the rules of the store you got it from. All rights not expressly granted are reserved. Feedback you send us may be used without any obligation to you.

11. Changes to the Service and to these Terms

KKB is a small, evolving product. We may add, change, limit, suspend or discontinue any feature, free allowance, limit or the whole Service at any time, with or without notice, and we are not liable to you or anyone else for doing so. If we discontinue the Service entirely we will try to give at least 30 days’ notice in the app and a way to export your data where that is reasonably possible.

We may change these Terms from time to time. If a change is material we will post the new version here, update the date at the top, and show a notice in the app. Continued use of KKB after the effective date is acceptance of the new Terms. If you do not agree, stop using KKB and delete your account.

12. Suspension and termination

You may stop using KKB at any time and delete your account from Settings. We may suspend or terminate your access, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you have breached these Terms, created risk or possible legal exposure for us, or if providing the Service to you is no longer commercially viable. On termination your licence ends and we may delete your account and data; sections that by their nature should survive (including 3, 6 through 10 and 13 through 18) survive.

13. Third-party services

KKB depends on services operated by others, including Google Play, Apple, Supabase, Anthropic, RevenueCat, Google AdMob and Expo. Their availability, behaviour and terms are outside our control, and your use of them may be subject to their own terms. We are not responsible for any act or omission of a third party, including a payment that a store fails to process, an advertisement’s content, or an outage of a hosting or AI provider.

14. Disclaimer of warranties

To the fullest extent permitted by law, KKB is provided “as is” and “as available”, with all faults and without warranty of any kind. Techmori expressly disclaims all warranties, express, implied or statutory, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, accuracy and uninterrupted or error-free operation. We do not warrant that balances, splits, VAT or service-charge figures, receipt readings or any other output will be correct, that data will be preserved or synced without loss, or that the Service will meet your needs. You use KKB at your own risk and are solely responsible for verifying its output before acting on it.

15. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Techmori and its owner, staff, contractors and suppliers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for any loss of money, profits, data, goodwill or relationships, arising out of or related to KKB or these Terms, however caused and under any theory of liability, even if advised of the possibility. This includes any dispute between you and another member of a group, any amount you paid or failed to collect in reliance on a balance shown in the app, any error in a receipt scan, and any loss of data stored only on your device.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability to you for all claims arising out of or related to KKB or these Terms will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid to us for KKB through the stores in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim, and (b) five hundred Philippine pesos (PHP 500).

Some rights under the Consumer Act of the Philippines, the Civil Code or other mandatory law cannot be excluded or limited by contract. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including liability for fraud or for gross negligence, and the exclusions above apply only to the extent the law allows.

16. Indemnity

You agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless Techmori and its owner, staff and contractors from any claim, demand, loss, liability, damage, cost or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to Your Content, your use of KKB, your breach of these Terms or of any law, or your dispute with another member of a group or any other third party.

17. Governing law and disputes

These Terms and any dispute arising out of or in connection with them or with KKB are governed by the laws of the Republic of the Philippines, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.

Talk to us first. Before starting any formal proceeding you agree to email developer@techmori.com with a description of the issue and what you are asking for, and to give us 30 days to resolve it informally. Most problems are fixed this way.

Where disputes go. If we cannot resolve the matter informally, you agree that it will be brought exclusively in the proper courts of the Philippines, and you submit to their jurisdiction, to the exclusion of all other venues. Where mandatory consumer law gives you the right to bring a claim in the courts of your own place of residence, that right is not affected.

Individual claims only. To the extent permitted by law, any claim must be brought in your individual capacity and not as a plaintiff or class member in any purported class, collective or representative proceeding. Any claim must be filed within one year after it arose, or it is permanently barred, to the extent the law permits such a limit.

18. General

19. Notice for Apple users

If you obtained KKB from the Apple App Store: these Terms are between you and Techmori only, not Apple. Apple has no obligation to furnish maintenance or support for the app. In the event of any failure of the app to conform to an applicable warranty you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price to you to the extent permitted by its policies; to the maximum extent permitted by law Apple has no other warranty obligation. Apple is not responsible for addressing any claim by you or a third party relating to the app, including product liability claims, claims that the app fails to conform to a legal or regulatory requirement, consumer protection claims, or intellectual property claims. You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated as a terrorist-supporting country, and that you are not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.
